The Centre for Higher Education Practice (CHEP) provides opportunities for academic professional development across the Triple Helix (education, research and KEE) for all staff and PGRs across the University. We are also responsible for actions within the Strategic Plans for People, Education, Research, and Knowledge Exchange and Enterprise, as well as contributing to Transnational Education (TNE) and University Charters.
The CHEP team has a range of academic backgrounds and expertise in education, research, KEE and evaluation.
We work in partnership with senior stakeholders, faculty champions, students and many subject matter experts from Faculties and Professional Services to co-design and deliver a wide range of professional learning activities, ranging from formal courses and programmes, through听faculty-based workshops听and networks, to the production of resources and the sharing of good practice.听 Our aim is to ensure that all professional learning activities are provided in meaningful and contextualised formats, addressing the needs of diverse groups and individuals.
CHEP鈥檚 strategic portfolio is overseen by Bobbi Moore (Education) and Prof. Francesco Shankar (Research & KEE).
This approach is guided by four key commitments:
We will provide opportunities for all academic staff and PGRs to meet and evidence University agreed standards of competence & excellence in all areas of academic practice, throughout their academic careers.
We will provide support that aligns to the听University strategy听with CHEP taking a leading role in numerous University wide听enhancement projects and activities
We will cultivate a model of partnership delivery that promotes a community of practice and 鈥淥ne Team鈥 culture to academic activities as well as our听"Triple Helix"听approach.
We will ensure high quality, evidence-informed activity that can demonstrate impact and that aligns with both individual needs and the University Strategy.
