Biography
Received primary and secondary education in London and graduated with a First-Class Honours in Biological Sciences from Birkbeck College, University of London in 1993. During this time also held a full-time technical research post at University College London with Prof. Andre McLean. In 1997, obtained a DPhil in physiological sciences from Oxford University - supervised by Antony Galione. Postdoctoral training took place at Harvard University and focused on the mechanisms of obesity-related insulin resistance with Gokhan Hotamisligil. Returning to the UK in 2000, joined Cambridge University, and established a research group investigating Immunometabolic Signalling in Tissue Remodelling and Metabolic Disease. After a career break, the laboratory relocated to 黑料社 in 2017. Have been successively, a US-UK Fulbright Scholar, Wellcome Trust Prize Travelling Fellow, RD Lawrence Fellow, a David Phillips Fellow, a Cambridge Senior Scholar and a Wellcome Trust Career Re-entry Fellow.
