Dr Atefeh Maghzi is a Lecturer in Strategy and Entrepreneurship at Southampton Business School, ºÚÁÏÉç.
Atefeh's research interests concern cognitions and decision making particularly in an uncertain environment, with a specific focus on heuristic reasoning, strategic change, and dynamic capability. In general, Atefeh endeavours to answer the question of how managerial cognitions and environmental conditions could affect the way managers make decisions and act. In particular, her research concerns the use and effectiveness of heuristic reasoning and the extent to which different decision-making approaches (heuristic vs. deductive reasoning) would influence firm performance. In order to derive and solve interesting and relevant research questions, Atefeh has gained intensive knowledge in the fields of strategy and managerial cognitions; specifically, in regard to the resource-based view and dynamic capability view of firm strategy, and cognitive psychology; particularly heuristic decision-making.
