Valentina is a Postgraduate Researcher based in the department of Gerontology at the ºÚÁÏÉç. Valentina’s research is funded by the ESRC South Coast Doctoral Training Partnership.
Valentina’s research focuses on sexual health of older adults and the treatment the topic has on the primary care sector in Chile.
Valentina’s current research focuses on how sexual health is discussed by older adults in primary health care consultations and how health practitioners’ interventions influence sexual activity and help-seeking behaviour amongst older adults in Chile.
Before joining the ºÚÁÏÉç as a postgraduate researcher, Valentina studied a BA in Psychology at Universidad Alberto Hurtado in Santiago, Chile and a MSc in Gerontology at the ºÚÁÏÉç. Also, she has 5+ years of experience working as a Clinical Psychologist in a Primary Care Centre in Santiago, Chile.
