Title: Neutron stars in the multi-messenger era
Abstract: I will discuss how advances in theory, simulation, and observations are providing new insights about neutron stars and their dense interiors. I will take stock of what we know and its implications for nuclear and particle physics. More accurate measurements of neutron star masses and radii can strongly constrain the equation of state, but may not be adequate to discover phase transitions. Neutron star dynamics and transport properties will be key to unravel the phase structure and composition of dense matter. In this context, I will outline some ideas and the need for multi-messenger observations.
